How it goes, step by step
You are talking to the person holding the knife. Nothing is owed until you have seen the drawing.
Tell me what you picture
A shop with an OPEN sign, a cottage on a stack of books, a tower with one lit window. A sentence is enough to start.
I sketch, quote and set a date
You get a small drawing and a price. Three to four weeks at the bench, and only a few commissions at a time.
You see it lit before it leaves
Photos in the dark first. Then handed over in Batumi, or wrapped by hand for the road.
Before you ask
Where do we meet?
Somewhere central and easy: usually near Batumi Piazza or on the Boulevard, whichever suits your day. Evenings and weekends are easiest for me.
Can I visit the workshop?
It is one room with sawdust in it, so not for browsing. For a finished piece, yes, by arrangement — you get to see it lit on the bench.
How long does a commission take?
Three to four weeks from the sketch, sometimes longer if the piece is fussy. I only take a few at a time so nothing gets rushed.
Will it survive my luggage?
Yes, with care. Each piece is wrapped for hand luggage and travels better on your lap than in a hold — the moss and the mushrooms are the delicate parts.
